Immerse yourself in the region’s football culture

Ballspielverein Borussia Dortmund, better known as BVB, was founded not far from Borsigplatz in the north of Dortmund. Initially, matches were played on the legendary ‘Weiße Wiese’. In the 1930s, the club moved to the ‘Rote Erde’ stadium in the south of Dortmund – yet Borsigplatz remained the heart of the club.

To this day, it remains a symbolic place for fans and players alike: whether it’s a championship celebration or a legendary moment – the spirit of Borussia lives on here. Anyone wishing to experience the history up close can discover the birthplaces of BVB on guided tours such as ‘Die Weiße Wiese’ or ‘Der Stern des Nordens’.

Today, Borussia Dortmund are playing at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK – still better known to many by its traditional name: Westfalenstadion. With a capacity of over 80,000, it is Germany’s largest stadium and a must-visit for all football fans.
